Three Reasons a High Definition DVR is a must-buy
Defined Tag: High Definition Dvr. The technological babble surrounding a new standard such as high definition, can sometimes be confusing or outright intimidating. DVR is one of those new abbreviations and it stands for Digital Video Recorder, the demise of your old VHS, that is. As far as funny looking letter combinations go the company who is perhaps primarily associated with this, TiVo, ads to the mix. They where among the first to successfully produce recorders of this type that actually started seeing widespread use. As with everything television these days, it is rather obvious that the DVR systems are entering the HD-era as well. So why would you want to own a DVR-solution in the first place. Here are three good motivations. The primary reason for having a high definition DVR is for most people that it at the same time will let them do their television watching in high definition. This is obviously something that is different wit each piece of equipment and should therefore be thoroughly checked before you spend any money. But needless to say most channel providers, that will broadcast HD-resolution to you, can also supply you with a HD DVR-appliance that doubles as a receiver and a recorder. The second reason to buy a high definition DVR is that such a device, unlike a VHS or any other older device, allows you to record your favorite shows and watch them in the same quality they where originally broadcasted in. Unlike regular definition DVRs, high definition DVRs can record both the high and low definition formats, making them a very versatile breed of set top boxes. The third reason to buy a high definition DVR is also a very practical one - that you can use it to rewind and pause live television whenever you want to. In addition to recording all your favorite high and low definition shows in the right resolution, you can also use a high definition DVR to gain a level of control over live television that hasn't been available before outside using a DVD or a VHS tape. This is a bigger change to how we watch television than it might first seem. If you need to stop and do something (like urgently go to the toilet) you can pause your television show, and come back not having missed a thing. It is also possible to start watching your favorite show 15 minutes after it actually started, fast forwarding past all the recorded commercials and still finish watching when the program would normally have completed. On a side not it will be interesting to see how tv-network advertisers tackle a device such as the high definition DVR.
